Summer is winding down!

The three months of summer always goes by so fast, but this year seems exceptionally fast – maybe, because our summer calendar has been so full.

Our baseball season came to an end this month with Sully’s 10U team taking home the South Dakota Little League state championship. It was the perfect ending to an incredible season. Looking forward to coaching flag football here in a couple weeks.

A nice July market rally has helped ease the sadness of summer coming to an end and the kids going back to school. We continue to be optimistic on the US economy and favor mostly large U.S. companies.

With the recent uptick in interest rates, we are continuing to see companies issue more favorable guaranteed rates with shorter term time horizons. If you have money that you are ok with tying up for 2 to 5 years, give us a call and we can discuss some of these rates. Many of which are now over 4% for the first time in years.

We can’t thank you all enough for the introductions to your family and friends. Seems as the markets become more volatile people start talking. The number of referrals we receive are always higher when the market is volatile. This really means a lot to us!

Enjoy what’s left of the summer and be sure to call us anytime with questions or concerns!

October Was the Original 8th Month, Not August

In the ancient Roman calendar, September and October were part of Summer (septem meaning 7 and octo meaning 8). But when the Romans switched to the 12-month calendar, new months pushed September and October back. These new months were named in honor of famous Roman leaders Julius Caeser (100 B.C. - 44 B.C.) for July and his grandnephew, Augustus Caeser (63 B.C. - 14 A.D.), for August.
