Life doesn’t come with a manual; it comes with a mother. In honor of Mother’s Day, we want to celebrate the Mom’s in our lives. Where would we be without our mothers? With unconditional love, they’ve lifted us up and kept us grounded. They’ve stood by our side, cheered us on, and pushed us to reach our full potential. In honor of our Mom’s, we are sharing some of the best lessons we’ve learned from our Mothers.
Travis Krueger – The day I left for college my mom said, “I don’t care how much fun you have the night before, you had better get your butt up in the morning and take care of business.” True story, and I still apply it today.
Mark Kontz - Be happy with what you have. Make the most of your life. Surround yourself with those that love you. Live every minute to its fullest.
Brady Smidt -Never underestimate the power of a thank you note. I hated writing thank you notes as a kid, but as an adult, I know how much a simple little note can mean.
Zach Jacobsen – Go to church. My Mom always had us up on Sunday morning, going to church. It didn’t matter if we were tired, if it was cold outside if there was something else to do, we went to church. It was important that we kept God first & foremost in our lives and we went to mass every week.
Suzie Seydel – Do something, and do it well. Give 110%.
Makayla Boer – Be kind to everyone, no matter the situation.
Kathy Kontz - Be generous. My Mom was so giving. She gave of her time, her money, her possessions- she really lived by the “what’s mine is yours” rule, especially with her family.

Swenson Wealth Management Investment Advisor, Mark Kontz, was a guest on our local Keloland Living show on Friday, April 23, 2021. KELOLAND Living is an exciting daily, one-hour local lifestyle talk show airing at 2 PM CT Monday thru Friday.
Mark discussed how preparation is key for a successful retirement. He shared how Swenson Wealth Management can help you create a Retirement Income Plan, which is so important, by using the Compass Report.
The Compass Report gathers all of your potential income sources into one place including savings, investment accounts, annuities, social security benefits, pension benefits, or other resources. Then, year by year, the Compass Report maps out which accounts will provide income for that year and in what amount. This is a lot like the GPS on your phone giving you turn by turn directions. This highly detailed and personalized plan takes into consideration yearly changes in social security claiming status, required minimum distributions, and tax advantages of each account type. Don’t HOPE you have enough to last through retirement, make a detailed PLAN of how it will happen.
