FINANCIALLY FOCUSED

March 2021 Newsletter

Can you believe it is March already? Spring will be here before we know it and that, typically, means spring-cleaning for a lot of us.

So, how about a Financial Spring Cleaning? You can clean out your financial junk drawer and organize those financial papers that may have piled up in your life.

First, we encourage you to shred old financial documents you don’t need. Old documents may contain a lot of juicy information about you that an identity thief would love to have.

Next, locate all of your important documents: your Will, Trust, Power of Attorney, Health care Power of Attorney, Living Will (also known as a Directive to Physicians), HIPAA Release, (Allows your family to obtain important information about your medical condition and treatment if you were to become incapacitated), and all other Insurance and Financial documents, Titles, Loan agreements, etc. These should all be kept in a fireproof safe, or safe-deposit box, or better yet in a PDF form in your Generational Vault.

When you partner with Swenson Wealth Management, you receive access to our Generational Vault, a secure online portal that allows you to easily organize, manage, and access your financial life and other important documents. This secure online portal provided for each of our clients provides a place for you to upload important documents and view your financial information.

The Generational Vault helps to ensure that all of your important information will be safe, secure, and accessible anytime, anywhere. All data is secured with an SSL Certificate that uses a 2018-bit public encryption key, one of the strangest available, to help protect your financial life.

And since you might not be the only person who needs access to the information and documents in your Generational Vault, you can manage your Generational Vault data authorizations so that your loved ones will be able to access your financial and legal information when it matters most.

With the Generational Vault, we can make life easier. Here, the goal is to help you have access to all your important documents as well as your different assets and accounts behind a single login. Instead of compiling information from multiple places, you can go to one spot to find everything you need. Plus, you can store family pictures, and videos in the document section.

The information is secure, backed up and available wherever you have an internet connection. Call to learn more about how you can get started with Generational Vault on our website and start your spring financial cleaning.

Have a great March!  May the “Luck of the Irish” be with you.

How To Get Over Retirement Fears

National Cereal Day - March 7¹

In 1964, General Mills management issued a challenge to all employees to create a unique cereal using the same manufacturing technology from their two best-selling cereals at the time: Cheerios and Wheaties. Product developer John Holahan was struck with inspiration upon his next trip to the grocery store. He decided to chop up pieces of marshmallow circus peanuts and mix them in with Cheerios. Not only did the executives love it, but given that it was the 1960s, their marketing team thought to take advantage of the popularity of charm bracelets among kids and teens.
