FINANCIALLY FOCUSED

September 2023 Newsletter

As we move from the official summer season after Labor Day into the wonderful Fall season, The Month of September is officially “Life Insurance Awareness Month”.

Life Insurance has been referred to as the foundation for Your Financial Plans. Just as You would not start building a home by constructing the roof first, the foundation is very important as that holds up the walls and the roof for your home. The same is true of Life Insurance, it protects what you have built and provides a solid foundation that protects your financial “home”. There are a lot of resources and information out there, some good and some not so good on Life Insurance but here is the official resource online that is worth taking a look at:

We also want to share that we are both excited and at the same time humbled to again be recognized as a 2023 Five Star award winner for Financial Professionals. This is our 12th time being recognized and we are one of only about a dozen advisors in the state to win this award for 10+ years. Our sincere thanks to everyone that makes this possible! As always, if you have any questions feel free to reach out to us at any time as we are always happy to help.

Thank you!

In the cities, however, school essentially ran all year with a few short vacations throughout. Their school years ranged from 251 to 260 days. It wasn’t until 1852 that Massachusetts became the first state to enact a compulsory public education law, meaning parents who didn’t send their children to school year-round were fined. Shortly after, a compromise was made between urban and rural school systems to run at the same time.

Coming in 2024: New 529 Plan-to-Roth IRA Rollover Option

In December 2022, Congress passed the SECURE 2.0 Act. It introduced two new rules relating to 529 plans and student debt that will take effect in 2024. The first provision allows for tax- and penalty-free rollovers from a 529 plan to a Roth IRA. The second provision allows student loan payments made by employees to qualify for employer retirement matching contributions.
